Halogen D20

Connect MP5 or MP6 to a clear local display, configured outputs and site records.

Bring the sensor and operating team together.

D20 is the Halogen controller for local readings, sensor setup and connections to your monitoring system. Its colour display brings the configured residual and supporting water-quality information to the installation.

Use it with the blue MP5 or black MP6. The guides describe two sensor Modbus connections; PMA will confirm the supported combination, firmware and power loading for your installation.

Display, record and connect

Local control

A 3.5-inch TFT display and menu-driven sensor configuration, with access to calibration and operating settings.

Site signals

Four configurable 0–20 mA or 4–20 mA analogue outputs, three SPDT relays and standard Modbus RTU.

Recorded information

SD-card data storage and software transfer support. Define the channels, timestamps and record retrieval workflow.

A complete monitoring arrangement

The sensor measures the water. The controller displays and communicates the configured readings. The flow cell or mounting arrangement establishes which water reaches the sensing end.

Agree inlet and outlet routing, isolation, operating pressure, power, earthing, signal cabling and maintenance access together. The illustrated flow cell takes water in below and releases it above to let air leave.

Suitable in-pipe and immersion variants require their own installation assessment and accessories.

D20 specifications for planning

Enclosure

IP65 / NEMA 4X plastic enclosure; 160 × 160 × 101.6 mm. Choose a protected, accessible site position.

Power

The documented supply is 85–240 V AC ±10%, 50/60 Hz. Sensor power and controller loading must suit the configured system.

Interfaces

Two sensor Modbus connections, four analogue outputs, three relays and Modbus RTU. Agree the mapping before commissioning.

Environmental limits

Controller temperature limits depend on connected sensor load. Use the guide’s derating requirements rather than a single unconditional maximum.

Plan connectivity with the installation

Modbus RTU and analogue signals can connect the monitoring point to a suitable site system. Confirm addressing, scaling, status handling, loss-of-signal behaviour and who maintains the records.

Phone-app and remote access require a compatible communications arrangement. PMA will review the controller interface, network hardware and access requirements with you.

Your questions, answered

Can D20 use any sensor power supply?

The supplied D20 specification describes an AC mains supply. The sensors use a different supply arrangement. A sensor-only or alternative controller installation needs a separate power and integration review.

Are alarms a complete protection system?

Configure alarms around the site’s documented operating response, including signal quality and communication loss. The controller alone does not establish a complete protection function.

Which sensors can connect to D20?

The supplied guides describe D20 use with MP5 and MP6. PMA will confirm the supported sensor combination, firmware and power loading for the installation.

What can operators see locally?

D20 presents the configured sensor readings on its colour display and provides menu-driven access to sensor setup, calibration and operating settings.

Can D20 connect to the site system?

Modbus RTU and analogue signals provide routes into a suitable plant monitoring system. Agree the fitted interfaces, addressing, scaling, status handling and loss-of-signal response before commissioning.

How should we plan data recording?

The documented arrangement includes SD-card storage and software transfer support. Define the channels, timestamps, retrieval method and who will maintain the records as part of the site review.
