Halogen water-quality measurements

Choose the residual you need to monitor and understand the model-dependent supporting water-quality measurements available from Halogen.

Begin with the measurement.

Free chlorine

Review the free-chlorine residual at a representative monitoring point. MP5 is the PMA range label used here; its supplied guide uses MP5A. PMA will confirm the exact sensor generation and controlling specification.

Monochloramine

The legacy MP6 guide describes free chlorine and monochloramine. A total-chlorine result alone does not identify monochloramine. Agree the residual, operating mode and corresponding reference method.

Total chlorine

Total-chlorine and newer MP-TOTAL material must be assessed separately from legacy MP6. Do not transfer ranges or the legacy ORP parameter to a newer sensor without a confirmed model crosswalk.

Supporting water-quality information

pH, conductivity and temperature provide useful context alongside the residual. Additional parameters, including ORP, depend on the selected sensor model and revision.
